Great Mystery Book

"The Face Of Betrayal" is very captivating, mysterious, and the first in a series of three. I read the entire book over the course of 2 days. I found it very difficult to put down. Lis Wiehl and April Henry. Katie Converse goes home over the Christmas break. Her family reports her missing and the media goes crazy searching for clues as to what happened and where Katie is assuming the worst has happened and takes over the search for her. Allison Pierce (prosecutor), Cassidy Shaw (reporter), Nicole Hedges (FBI agent) uncover interesting info that Katie is not the person everyone describes her as. She is however having an affair with an extremely older senator whose political career could come to an end if everyone found out. The Senator will do anything to keep Katie a secret. If any one is looking for an excellent mystery book this is the one to get it will keep you on the edge of your seat through out the whole book. I highly recommend this book! I can't wait for the next one to come out. After reading this must read I find it difficult waiting to finish the series. I give it 5 stars!

A Heart Felt Book

I picked up the book entitled “The Noticer” by Andy Andrews. It is one of many books I have started to read and found very enticing where could not put it down until I finished it. The book is not very long only 10 chapters and 156 pages; I read the whole book in one night.The book talks mostly of perspective but not in the traditional boring way a text book would. It begins with Andy (yes the author) being homeless with no where to go or anyone to talk to. When he meets this man named Jones one night his whole life starts to change. Jones teaches him to see the world through a different perspective. Jones does not only help Andy but he helps many through though situations. There is one couple on the verge of a divorce and when Jones interferes with their lives; they to have a change of outlook on life. He also goes to help with a suicidal man, an elderly woman, and a dying man. Jones is a very fascinating man. This book is very interesting and seemed to give me a different perspective on life too. As you read it it may open up windows for you that you never realized existed. It just may give you a new perspective on life too. The author Andy Andrews is astonishing. He has made many public appearances to talk to about his first book “The Traveler's Gift”. I can not wait for him to write another. This book has well earned 5 stars.

The Rivers Run Dry (Book Review)

I was first interested in the book "The Rivers Run Dry" authored by Sibella Giorello because I like books that seem to deal with the law and the law enforcement. This particular book which is only a mere 321 pages long seemed to take me forever to read. Some things in the book kept my attention while other put me to sleep literally.

It is about a female FBI agent named Raleigh Harmon with a degree in geology who was transferred From Richmond to Seattle after not following orders from her boss. Raleigh does not have time to get used to the transfer before she is on a case looking for a missing hiker. Raleigh promises to find the girl who has gone missing. Her investigation seems to go nowhere as she tries to piece together all the clues she has uncovered when suddenly a ransom note appears. Then her leading suspect becomes one of the colleagues. She has no idea who to trust being new to the district.

To make matters worse her mother is in an ill state of mind that is deteriorating every day. Her and her mother moved in with her strange aunt when they arrived in Seattle. Her aunt calls on a clairvoyant to help Raleigh solve the case.

As the plot twist and turns I lost interest in the book many time. I would rate it three stars out of five. It is an okay book that will put you to sleep on nights that you feel like an insomniac.

New Coupon Binder!!! Yay!!

Earlier in the week I ordered a new coupon binder off of EBay. Today it came by UPS!!! I am so excited!! I have all ready set it up with my coupons and am ready to go shopping tomorrow. It is a Case-It D-185 4" Zipper binder with built in files, a handle, and a shoulder strap. My old one wasn't a zipper binder ans was very crowded it was only a 2" binder. I plan on using my old one to keep all the coupons I plan on trading organized too!

Another Great DVD from Book Review Bloggers

The Read and Share DVD Bible Volume 1 is a collection of thirteen stories about Jesus, John the Baptist, Jacob. and more. The animated characters are somewhat simple compared to a lot of animation now days. But the images on screen are bright and colorful and the narrations are simple and easy to follow and understand. There are several different narrators to the stories adding some variation from story to story. The music in each of the stories is calming and fits each of the stories. All of these qualities aid in the DVD's ability to capture your little ones attentions. My children rarely sit down to watch a full video but with this one they were very interested in sitting there quietly through the whole DVD.

I found it to be very informational for children and an easier way for them to understand what is in the Bible. The stories were geared towards small children and make an excellent supplement to reading the Bible to them. My children never get tired of watching the stories over and over again. They also like to remind others about Jesus and they will qote straight from the movie.

All in all it is a wonderful DVD geared to help them understand about Jesus. I rate it 5 stars!!

Great Movie For Kids!

I found out that you can actually get DVD's not only books from Book Review Blogger!

I just finished watching Max Lucado's "Skeeter and the Mystery of the Lost Mosquito Treasure" from the Hermie and Friends collection. I loved this movie. It is a Christian based cartoon about a mosquito who thinks there is something wrong with the way he looks, but later finds out that he is just unique. At the beginning Skeeter does not like the way his nose looks, he is very self conscious about it thinking that no one likes him because of his nose. Skeeter also learns he is not the only one unique but everybody is unique in their own way. As the story of the movie goes on he learns that his brother's nose may be straight but his brothers wings are to short to fly. The moral of the movie is you should not worry about what others think of you bet only what god thinks of you. This DVD is perfect for young children and preteens. Skeeter the mosquito teaches children it is okay to be different! The story is based on the Bible verses Psalm 139:13-14 where God created us all unique. Not only was I impressed with the show but my children loved it too! I highly recommend this DVD it was awesome! I am definitely going to look into more of Max Lucado's children movies!

If you have not heard yet many companies have will send you coupons for emailing them. I have quite a few since the first and received many valuable coupons. Here a a few I have complimented on their products.

Some companies will send you coupons just for the compliments and some will not. I have only asked for coupons from company and felt a little uncomfortable about it so I never did that again. If you have a complaint about something don't feel bad about letting them know. I only complain if there is really something wrong.

Companies really do want company customer feed back so give it a try!

Mail Call 3/2/09

For the past week my mailbox has been quite empty. Boy was I surprised when I checked it today!! I got 2 FREE coupons from Wolf Brand Chili (I emailed them a compliment about 2 weeks ago), 7 coupons from Ken's Steakhouse for 1 FREE salad dressing, 1 FREE marinade, 1 FREE Steak sauce, 3 $1 off any Ken's Steakhouse, and an envelope full of coupons all which I will use from someone I trade with! I also got 4 magazines that I got a free subscription too!! Also to my surprise not 1 bill! It was a really great day and a very nice way to start off the month!

Store Coupon Policies

Every store has there own policy for handling coupons. The best way to know how your store handles them is simply to ask. You can ask in person, email the company, or even call them. If you don't ask you will not know and many of the cashiers do not know their own stores policy. It's better to ask and once you know it don't be afraid to stand your ground if your cashier does not follow the store policy. Always stay clam and be polite most likely your cashier just don't know the coupon policy. Don't be afraid to ask for a manager if one is needed and if all else tell them you do not want the items f you can not use your coupons and ask for your coupons back.

Kroger will double and triple coupons up to a certain limit but you must have a Kroger's shopper card. You can get a shopper's card at the service desk or just ask your cashier for one they usually have a stack of them at the registers. They accept IP's (Internet Printed), manufacturer, and store coupons. My Kroger will double up to $0.50 and triple up to $0.39. They will also only double or triple 3 like coupons meaning 3 identical coupons. This varies from Kroger to Kroger another reason to ask about the policy. If you email them they will reply that they only double or triple 1 like coupon.

Wal-mart has a corporate coupon policy you can find here. I have found it quite useful many of times. They accept IP's (Internet Printed), manufacturer, and store coupons.

They accept IP's (Internet Printed), manufacturer, and store coupons.

Okay, those are the stores I shop at and small summary of their policies. I have a hard copy from each of my stores to carry with me in my binder. It really helps to have one with you.

Organizing Coupons

I have seen so many different way to organize coupons. Some people like to use accordion style file folders. I find this to be a major pain because I have to shuffle through them in the store. Others like to use things such as baby wipe boxes or the old style coupon box (the wipes box just holds more but is basically the same concept. Again I find my self fumbling through them trying to find the coupon I needed for a product. There are even people like myself who like the coupon binder method.

The binder method can be any binder with dividers and plastic sleeves such as baseball card holders or photo holders. A CD/DVD case will work as well. I personally use a Case-It binder like the one below.

I like it because it has the files where I can put all of my store ads and their coupon policies. I will upload an actual picture of mine with coupons in it as soon as I get around to taking a picture of it.

Everyone is different when it comes to organization just choose the method that works best for you.

How I Tracking My Savings And More

When I started couponing last October I did not even thinking of keeping track of my savings much less anything else that has to do with couponing. i felt so over whelmed by all the information I was getting from fellow couponers. At the end of 2008 I was curious as to how much I had saved in just the 2 1/2 months I had been using coupons. So, one of my New Years Resolutions was to keep track of how much I spent.

Since the 1st of the year I have used Microsoft Excel 07 to keep up with my saving. I started doing this on January 1st this year. The first page in my file is for my savings using coupons, Walgreens Register Rewards, and . The second page is just rebates so I can keep track of when I send them, receive them, and how much I receive. I also have a page where I keep track of companies I have contacted for coupons, compliments, and complaints. My last page is used for tracking my coupon trades.

So far this year I have saved $2142.79.
